Description:

SOLD....Here is a terrific, and might we add "rare", opportunity to acquire a cabin in Hume Lake. This cabin has a beautiful location just across the road from the lake with gorgeous lake views from the deck. This is your chance to acquire a truly unique recreation property that can be passed down through the generations.

Hume Lake is a mountain community located in the Sequoia National Forest about an hour east of Fresno. The 87 acre historic lake was built in 1908 behind the world's first concrete reinforced multiple arch dam. Recreation includes some terrific trout fishing, non-motorized boating, and swimming at the Sandy Cove Beach. The beach is a very short walk from the cabin.

The well maintained cabin was built in the 1930's and has been kept in original condition. It is sited on a Forest Service lease lot with a private septic system and water provided by the Hume Lake Water District. The 2 story structure has a basement under design for storage and laundry area. The main floor has a nice living area highlighted by the 2 story natural rock fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, and private bedroom. The second floor is a large loft with sleeping accommodations for four people. The cabin is being sold completely furnished except for a few family heirloom items and keepsakes. A large wood deck off the living area overlooks the lake. There are no structures between the cabin and the lake. You can literally walk across the road and be at the lake.

Any negatives? This is a leasehold property with the Forest Service but the price reflects that. The present lease expires in 2028. The renewable lease has a 20 year term. These are mostly summer properties but there is a fairly extensive year round community (even a school). The area does get quite a bit of winter snow. The road into Hume is plowed but access to the cabins can be restricted to snowmobile at times.

Hume Lake is one of the true jewels of the Sierra's with easy access to some of the world's great natural wonders, including the Giant Sequoias and Kings Canyon (deepest in North America). We rarely see these cabins come on the market. They stay in one family for generations at a time. Don't miss your chance. This one will not last!!!
