Description:

SOLD...Take note of this one...this is surely one of the nicest properties on the mountain. It offers a gorgeous, 2,035sqft true custom home, a completely secluded cul-de-sac setting, magnificent views, and a rare double lot with a total of 10 acres. This truly is a very special property.

Redbud Lane is near the top of the suddivision area at the 3,300 foot level. It is a very short ridgeline road that offers commanding and panoramic views of the San Joaquin Valley and the High Sierras. This property consists of two 5 acre parcels that control the entire end of the cul-de-sac. In short, the end of the road is yours...you have complete privacy and no close neighbors. As the road name implies, this is an area where you will find a wealth of redbud trees. The redbud is, without a doubt, one of the prettiest trees native to California. When flowering in the spring, its beauty is simply breathtaking.

Much of the area around the home and garage has been cleared and landscaped. For many years, this property was on the local garden club tour and was reknown for its unique blend of pathways that meandered through a series of native and planted garden areas and terraces. The variety of plant life, flowers, shrubs, and trees is simply stunning. It stands out as a creation of beauty and love.

The home is absolutely unique. This is a true custom perched atop the ridgeline where it has commanding panoramic views in all directions. It is visually stunning. Built in 1996, the home features quality 2x6 construction on a stemwall foundation. The design is a modified semi-great room with a private dining area. The open living room has cathedral ceiling and a gorgeous fireplace that was designed to vent heat into all of the other rooms. The open kitchen features stainless appliances, tile floors, and a large island seating counter. The entire living area features a variety of unique decorative window and display ledges and recessed lighting. A double doored office (or 3rd bedroom) is adjacent. The guest bath features a beautiful antique clawfoot tub. The master suite features an enormous walk-in closet with airing window, a huge bedroom with French doors to the outside deck and an amazing master bath. The bath has a private water closet, oversize spa tub, and a huge walk-in shower with glass block window. The home has dual pack forced air heating and cooling plus dual hot water heaters (a separate one for the master suite). The finishing touch for this truly delightful home is the massive redwood deck that surrounds the home from front to rear. This is no mere patio deck...from every spot you have a huge and commanding view of the world beyond. Imagine an evening dinner party that starts with an unbelievable sunset that turns into an awesome San Joaquin Valley view ablaze with the lights of cities. The decks are complete with a massive, ramped stairway that leads to the oversize garage located below. The ramp is handicapped accessible and doubles as an easy way to get firewood up to the house. A graveled drive provides easy access to the garage and lower property areas.

What about the negative features? There really isn't much to say. The property is located at the upper levels of the subdivision so commute time will be longer...about 50 minutes to Fresno. On the other hand, if you have a place like this, who wants to go to town anyway? The elevation is 3,300 feet. That means you can expect to have some snow in the winter. Four to six inches is not unusual and, once in a while, you will get up to a foot. During these times a 4 wheel drive or chains may be in order. That higher elevation also means it will be a lot cooler in the summer and you will be above most of the valley smog so you will breathe a lot easier. The original owners invested years of time and effort in creating a landscaped paradise. The end result is awesome but it also requires work to maintain. You really need to love plants. Finally, it just might be too quiet for you. That end of the cul-de-sac, top of the ridge setting insulates you from the rest of the world. You may find yourself longing for the sounds of traffic and people yelling. One can only take so much of the sounds of nature and the solitude of a starlit sky.

Anyway you cut it, no words are going to be adequate to the task of describing this amazing property. The pictures help but how do you put into words what a flowering redbud looks like? How do you convey the unimaginable beauty of the sun coming out after a winter snow? How do you describe an indescribable sunset? This truly is a unique offering but the price is rock solid. On the other hand, you couldn't even come close to replacing the home for the price, much less the land and improvements. If you wanted to see only the best, don't miss this one. You won't be disappointed.
